Ring Wyrm Rank: III Petitioner: Balzac, Lowtown North Sprawl Reward: 200 Gil, Moon Ring, Icebrand |
This great dragon only comes out to play durring sandstorms. You might need to leave and reenter the area, until one begins.
In the beginning of the fight, Dispel Protect and Haste from the beast, and try to hit it with Slow. This will give the party a great upper hand in the fight. If you have Belias, bring him in for some fun. Ring Wyrms Breath attack will heal Belias due to the fire based element. This gives Belias more time on the field, as well as allowing you to fight more too. Ring Wyrm will focus more on your Esper, so be prepared to heal if you see Belias's HP getting low. Othewise, simply hack away at the enemy, and keep everyone in good health. This is the first mark in rank order to ahve over 100,000 HP, so the battle might be longer than the ones before it. Just be patient, and he will eventually fall. |

Feral Retiever Rank: III Petitioner: Hymms, Sand-strewn Pass/Mt. Bur-Omisace Reward: 1500 Gil, Recurve Crossbow, Teleport Stone |
Feral is luckily found right next to a save crystal. He loves status attacks, and will hit you with them often. Feral also has a area stone attack in his arsenal, that can hit everyone at once. Make sure to set Gambits with Esuna in top priority. To prevent someone from succuming to Sleep, equip a healer with a Nishijin Belt. If it is later in the game, swap out Esuna for Esunga. It certainly will make the battle 100x easier. The other dangerous attack the Feral has is Balance. Given its high HP, Balance can be a lethal attack to any pary member. |

Vorpal Bunny Rank: III Petitioner: Nera Spiritwood/Eruyt Village Reward: 2000 Gil, Lightning Arrows, Gillie Boots (Rabbit's Tail) |
OK, this little bunny is a pain in the cotton tail. He is not in the least bit interested in fighting. Actually you will spend more time running after him than not. First objective in the fight, is to rid the area of other enemies before even engaging. This will make the chasing much easier. You could also set everyone with ranged weapons, to get a few shots in while on the chase, but there is another way.
Have someone cast Berserk on the Vorpal Bunny. Though this increases the bunny's strength, it also prevents it from running away. Cast Protect on the main fighter, to soften the Vorpal's increased strength, and keep everyone else outside of range. You can also hit it with Blind, but it misses about half the time. Just hammer away at the little guy, and keep Berserk on him, and you should not have too much trouble. |

Atomos Rank: III Petitioner: Burrogh, Jajim Bazaar/Nalbina Fortress Reward: 1800 Gil, Gaia Rod, Diamond Shield |
Begin the battle by removing the protective effects on the beast. Atomos will recast them in time, so be ready to Dispel them again. Atomos prefers physical attacks, so keep your ranged characters out of harms way. If you have Decoy, set it on your main fighter, so Atomos's attention is solely on them. Occasionally Atomos will use White Wind to block negative status effects, so don't worry about hitting it with Slow or Blind. He might be a massive enemy, but the bigger they are.... |

Gil Snapper Rank: III Petitioner: Nanau, Crystal Galde/Giza Plains (Rains) Reward: 3000 Gil, Phobos Glaze |
In this fight, you will have a companion with you. He will also let you know whether or not the Gil Snapper has appeared. In order to reach the Gil Snapper, you must fist cut down all of the dead trees in the Giza Plains. There are 6 total, spread through every area, Including where the village usually is. Make sure to get all of them, then head into the fight.
As far as fights go, this one is straight forward. Gil Snapper has no special attacks, nor spells to throw at you. Just keep up the hitting, and keep everyone healthy through the battle. Using Cura in the fight will also heal the fighting companion that accompanies you. when he nears death, hit it with a Quickening Chain to end the battle. Be sure to get the Feather of the Flock item out of the urn at the far end of the area. This is a critical item to the Cocktrice Misc. Quest. |
